Find the underlying components of a website

Ever wanted to know what technologies and components a particular website utilizes? Ever wondered what makes a particular site tick? I stumbled upon a site which will provide you with such information. Sitonomy will provide you with a site’s underlying technology and components such as programming language, server, and stat tools just to name a few.

Now I’ve always for as long as I can remember right clicked to view the page source of a website and have learned many things from doing that. But, sitonomy takes this one step further.

You simply go to the site and type in the URL for which website you’d like to gather information about. Here’s the result after typing in this site, www.dumontnjforum.com.

I’ve cropped the page results into 3 parts for easier viewing. As you can see I use Amazon’s Associate Program which 26.9% of other sites analyzed by sitonomy use. And, I also use Google AdSense for advertisement purposes.

My blogging platform is Wordpress, which you’d never know without right clicking or this application or a similiar type of program. My site also consists of Feedburner and Amazon ImpressionCounter for statistics.

The scripting language which drives the site is PHP, version 5 by the way, and Apache is my server software.
