Clear My Recent Documents

Here I’ll show you how to clear My Recent Documents in Windoxs XP. At the end I’ll tell you how you can remove My Recent Documents from your computer entirely. After all a picture’s worth a thousand words right? One essential step in removing traces of your personal browsing history on your PC is to Clear the Recent Documents Folder. The My Recent Documents Folder in Windows XP displays your most recently accessed files or programs.

Here’s how to do it.

1. From your Taskbar, right click and then select Properties.

2. Click Customize From the Start Menu Properties Window. Now Click the Customize Button.

3. First click the Advanced tab and then click the Clear List button Click Advanced and then Clear List.

Your most recently accessed documents are now deleted from the My Recent Documents folder.

As I promised at the beginning of this article if you wish, you can also remove My Recent Documents entirely from the start menu. Simply uncheck the box next to List my most recently opened documents.
