Brodeur breaks record

Martin Brodeur notched his 552nd career victory in a 3–2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night at Prudential Center. The win moves him ahead of his idol Patrick Roy and into the record books as the NHL‘s all-time winningest goaltender.

The sell-out crowd (17,625) stood as one through the final two minutes as the Devils clung to a 3–2 lead. Brodeur broke the record on St. Patrick’s Day, coincendentally Roy’s nickname is St. Patrick.

Brodeur’s first win came on March 26,1992.
